FAQs

Do we have to live in a certain catchment area for my child to receive treatment?

No, children from all over the UK can come to Christopher Place. We also see children from overseas through our Far Reach offer, although their families obviously have to move to the UK while they receive treatment, as we don't have centres in other countries.

Do you help low income families meet the cost of treatment?

Yes, we have a means-tested Child Sponsorship Fund which offers financial support if you are unable to pay the fees.

At what age can children start at Christopher Place?

We have a Baby Beginners programme for newly-diagnosed deaf babies which means children as young as six weeks are referred to us.

Does my child have to be referred to you by our GP/hospital?

No, you can get in touch with us directly if you prefer.

Once our child is assessed, can we get therapy at Christopher Place?

Yes, 1:1 therapy can be organised for your child

Can we use the provision at Christopher Place even if our child attends another nursery setting?

Yes. Many of our children attend up to five morning nursery sessions at Christopher Place and go on to the other setting after lunch.

Can we get support for our child in their other setting?

Yes, our therapist will travel to your child's other nursery to provide therapy.
